Opening Hours

The practice offers Enhanced Access clinics on a Monday and Tuesday evening. This is to support patients who have difficulty accessing appointments during the day due to work commitments and daily commuting. 

If you need a doctor when the surgery is closed you should ring the out-of-hours service on 111. Calls are free from both landlines and mobile phones.

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation.

Call 111 if:

• you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency
• you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
• you don't know who to call or you don't have a GP to call
• you need health information or reassurance about what to do next

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.  

At peak times you may be offered an appointment with the GP+ service based at Riverside Clinic Ipswich. This service is available to registered patients in the evening and at weekends and is an extension of the usual services provided to you by Ravenswood Medical Practice. 

We will arrange for you to be seen by a clinicain who has access, with your consent, to your medical records and who will keep your usual GP fully informed of any diagnosis and treatment provided. The Riverside Clinic is loacated at 2 Landseer Road, Ipswich, IP3 0AZ.

Please note: The Riverside Clinic is NOT a walk-in Centre and GP+ appointments can only be arranged via the practice or the 111 (Out of hours service)

Greenways Ravenswood Shopping Centre now operates a ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and warden patrol services. These are now in operation for the purpose of the Car Park Management and enforcement. Two hours maximum stay.

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

• Treat yourself at home
• Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.

The surgery will be closed on the following dates between 13:30 – 18:30 for training purposes. Please contact the NHS 111 service should you require medical advice whilst we are closed, reception will remain open during these times for prescription collection only
