Non-urgent advice: Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions are:

  • using your NHS account(NHS App or through the NHS website)
  • using SystmOnline
  • Bring a paper form into the surgery
  • Or contact your nominated pharmacy (medication on repeats only) to ask if they can order on your behalf.

These accounts will show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

We regret to inform you we do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone or email.

Please allow 72 hours (3 working days) for prescriptions to be processed by the surgery before collection. Any requests recieved after 4pm will will  not be processed until the following day.

If your prescription is sent to your nominated Pharmacy, please check with them as to collection times.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • at your GP practice
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Non-urgent advice: Pharmacy First

This service enables patients to access health advice and treatment via the Pharmacy.

The NHS Pharmacy First Service means you are able to be treated in-pharmacy without the need to visit your GP. As a result, you’ll be able to access treatments quicker. You can visit your pharmacist for a consultation and they will treat you and prescribe medication if necessary. If your condition is more serious you will be referred to a GP or hospital.

The Pharmacy First service involves providing clinically appropriate advice and treatment for seven common health conditions.

These conditions are:

  • Earache in children aged 1-17 years old.
  • Sore throat in patients aged 5 years and over.
  • Sinusitis in patients aged 12 year and over.
  • Impetigo in patients aged 1 years and over.
  • Shingles in patients aged 18 years and over.
  • Infected insect bites in patients 1 years and over.
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women 16-64 years old.

Non-urgent advice: Electronic Prescribing Service

This practice is set up for the Electronic Prescription Service.

This means that for most patients we can send your prescription to your chosen chemist directly saving you having to come down to the surgery.

To get your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy you will have to ask reception to sign up.

Non-urgent advice: Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

Non-urgent advice: Reducing medicines waste

A large amount of medicines are wasted in Suffolk and North East Esses each year & we need your help to reduce this.

What can we do:

  • Only order what you need
  • Let us know if your medicines are no longer right for you
  • Take your medicines into hospital if you are going in for treatment
  • Dispose of medicines safely by returning them to your pharmacy
